Artisan Biography for DoMosaics
I am a Kentucky-based artisan. I make high-quality Italian glass mosaic artwork, frames, mirrors, and home decor pieces. I am a self taught mosaic artist and love every minute of it. I am always working on new creations and my fingers are cutting tiles as fast as they can ! I love to hear what people are buying these mosaics for. Is it a gift, graduation, wedding, or a shower or are they just splurging on themselves? That way it helps me create towards that direction. I love custom work ! I like to make that "certain" mosaic for someone. So if you don't see something in a certain color... no problem. Feel free to contact me and we can discuss colors. I have customers who find the colors from a bridal registry and we build from there on any given piece. So let your imagination go !
My work has recently been featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper and the Kentucky Monthly magazine.

A Kimberly Design

Artisan Biography for akimberlydesign
My life as an artist...I went to art school to study fashion illustration and graphic design. One day I found myself in a yarn shop, and was inspired to become a knitter. All the texture and color was amazing. Several years later found me standing in front of a wall of colorful thread, more texture, endless possibilities, this was when I started to needle point. As I continued to evolve, I discovered I could make tassels. I began teaching the art of tassel making, which led to designing my own free-form needle art. I then created a line of wearable art pins which provided several years of commission sales.Viola! I began publishing and distributing. Now life was getting exciting, I attended markets with a tag stating that I was a designer and a teacher with my own line of charted needlepoint designs. This was a wonderful time in my life. I'm now semi retired. I say semi, as I will never totally be 'out of it'. I love being creative.
You will find some fun things in this Artfire shop: www.akimberlydesign.artfire.com
She has ACOs, jewlery and purses to name a few things. This lamb ACO is my favorite :)

In Memory Of Dave Dillon

We were just informed of the death of our very good friend Dave Dillon. He lost control of his Harley when he hit gravel on a curve while riding with a friend. He was not only our friend but he worked with Bill the last several years at www.brandlcycle.com . He leaves behind many friends and family who will miss him dearly. I still can't imagine the world without him. Please pray for his family.

Davie was always putting other people first. He lived in a small town and would go and clean off sidewalks for all the elderly people. He loved his children and grandchildren. He loved to babysit his little grand baby. If you needed help he would be right there to help.

He had always said he wanted to work with Bill and learn from him. He was a well respected Harley mechanic. Brandl Cycle will not be the same without him.

He loved animals especially his two pugs. He always had a smile. I honestly can not think of one negative thing to say about him.

Please be sure to tell your loved ones and friends how you feel about them, just give them an extra hug. We never know how long they will be with us.

My thoughts and prayers are for his family.

I have been beading for about 10 years. Jewelry By Janzia

Jeanette makes some beautiful hand made jewelry. You can see her work in her Artfire shop
JewelrybyJanzia's Bio:
Hi, my name is Jeanette Krantz. I originally hail from West Virginia but now call Charlotte, NC home, which I love but will admit to missing the mountains from time to time. I'm a SAHM with two wonderful kids, two dogs, and a very supportive and loving husband.I first became interested in making jewelry when I commented on liking a pair of my neighbors earrings and she told me that her daughter had made them. I was amazed by the idea that you could make your own earrings and a little seed was planted. The next time I went to my local library I checked out every book I could on jewelry making. I read everything I could on the subject but wasn't really spurred to action until I went to a jewelry party (not the handcrafted kind but a company sponsored one). I loved everything I saw but after reading so much about it I kept thinking to myself I could make that. I figured by this point it was time to stop thinking about it and start doing something. I went home and scoured all my books once again and then made my first piece which I gave to my mom for her birthday. After that there was no stopping me.Not one to ever do things halfway I went on a shopping spree and started making more than I could ever give away. I first got the thought to sell my jewelry when my neighbor asked if I had anything to sell because she was looking for a gift for her neice. I sold my first piece that day and at the urging of my family and friends decided to create Jewelry by Janzia and here I am.
From the Artisan: At Jewelry by Janzia you will find an eclectic array of handcrafted jewelry designs from the simple to the sublime. Whether you are looking for some sparkle to wear with your favorite comfy jeans or something to add an extra special touch to that little black dress, Jewelry by Janzia has something to suit every style. So kick up your feet, browse around and indulge, adorn, and enjoy yourself.

Silver River Jewelry

Sonja has some exceptional handmade jewelry in her Artfire shop. http://www.silverriverjewelry.artfire.com/ Fine artisan jewelry made with a variety of techniques including wire wrapping, metal smithing and lapidary (rocks). Elegant, affordable, well made jewelry with a touch of whimsy.

Artisan's Bio:I have a passion for my family, the outdoors and designing jewelry. I am also an avid reader and enjoy being on the water. I love summer and am not so thrilled with winter (this is an issue since I live in Ohio lol!).I love what I do. For me the whole process is fascinating. It is like treasure hunt, from finding the perfect combination of stones or beads, to manipulating the metal with hammer and fire. Digging a stone out of the ground that looks like nothing special only to open it up and find beauty inside. There is something elementally satisfying in that.

3zArt

AJ has a really funky & fun shop on Artfire. http://3zart.artfire.com/ You will find the coolest switch plates, mouse pads and coasters just to name a few things. I just bought the coolest pink mouse pad with skulls on it, can't wait to get it. Here are a few of my favorites from her shop.

Artisan's Bio:Hi there. I've had a pretty interesting life for my short time here! Lived in many wonderful places (and many not so wonderful). Currently going to school to hopefully make something of myself :) I love making home decor items and experimenting to make new products. I have lots of crazy ideas..some work wonderfully and others end in disaster(and usually burnt hands). I also love playing with polymer clay but that is just a hobby and I would probably never sell any of my work. I have not had a traditional life at all...it is very hard for me to fill out any kind of form about myself *<:o)
